§ 199-24. Inspections; warning notices.

  • A. 
    All solid waste is subject to inspection from the time it is placed at the curb or in a dumpster, through and including the time it arrives at the ultimate disposal area.
    (1) 
    Said inspection may be carried out by the Town Recycling Coordinator; the Director of Public Works; the Director of Health or his or her designated agent or by any member of the Board of Selectmen or its designated agent, or the manager of the Town solid waste facility.
    (2) 
    The commercial refuse hauler responsible for pick-up of a particular load of refuse or recyclables may inspect said refuse or recyclables at curbside or in dumpsters for the purpose of determining proper separation of solid waste as set forth in this chapter and its subsequent regulations.
    B. 
    An informational or warning notice may be given orally or in writing by any authorized person, whether a Town employee or a commercial hauler or a collector of recyclables, whenever any provision of this chapter is violated by any person, partnership, firm, corporation, or association.
